Iron Soul Dungeon Maps & Dungeons: The Full Tier Ladder

Progression in Iron Soul: Dungeon is a ladder of maps, and each map is itself a ladder of difficulties. Entry requirements are stated as character levels for a reason — abilities and gear are level-locked, and battle power over-values some pieces badly.

MapTierEntry requirementWhat it isWhat it drops
Starless Forest Tier 1 Level 0 Where a character is built. Five difficulties: Trial (0), Challenge (5), Penitent (10), Torment (12), Inferno (15). Sandstone early, first mythic ore at Penitent, painstone from Torment hell mode, magnetite at Inferno, dark cubes from hell modes.
Frozen Valley Tier 2 Level 15, 1,200 max HP, painstone light weapon The long mid-game — roughly eight hours if you are building an Oathlost Castle-ready character. Verdanite, hexbane, bloodshard, sunflare, flourite, torbernite, voidstar and earthmaw across the progression.
Oathlost Castle Tier 3 Endgame Where the endgame begins. Its OC Trial Hell difficulty is the wall the Earthmaw + Aquamarine mix exists to solve. Tier 3 materials.
Unannounced dungeon Tier 4 TBA Listed on the official progression roadmap as to be announced.
Cave of Runes Side content Cave ticket The farming source for runes, alongside the Grocery and the season battle pass. Frost, Corrode, Methysis and Burn runes.
Cave of Crystals Side content Cave ticket The source of every blessing material — shards, flakes, prisms, gems and stars. Crystal materials for the +1 to +12 blessing chain.

Hell modes

Each difficulty has a hell-mode variant, and hell-mode ore usually carries a higher multiplier than the standard drop — which means gear crafted from it comes out stronger. Keeping hell-mode ore on tier also keeps the crafting pool identical, removing the unpredictability that ore mixing normally introduces — see the forge rules.

Two hell modes matter most in Tier 1: Challenge hell for dark cubes (your first real light sword), and Torment/Inferno hell for painstone, the ore behind swords that stay on tier through most of Frozen Valley.

What lives in them

Enemy rosters change per map — goblins and minotaurs in Starless Forest, yetis and cannon yetis in Frozen Valley, with dragon and golem variants appearing as bosses in both. Danger ratings, stun rules and counters for all of them are in the bestiary.
