Iron Soul Dungeon Leveling & Gold Guide

Why leveling is the priority

Abilities and gear are level-locked. Battle power, the number the game shows you, is an average that over-values some pieces badly — two characters with identical battle power can clear at very different speeds. Every recommendation on this site is stated as a level for that reason.

Difficulty entry levels for Tier 1: Trial 0, Challenge 5, Penitent 10, Torment 12, Inferno 15. Frozen Valley expects level 15 with 1,200 max HP (full ladder).

Where the XP is

The honest answer is that no dungeon in Tier 1 is a designated XP farm, and one of them is explicitly a bad one: Torment difficulty is too long to recommend farming for XP, even though its resource output is good. Levels come as a by-product of clearing efficiently, which makes clear speed the lever you actually control:

  • Break props — it charges your ultimate, and an ultimate you never use is an ultimate you lost.
  • Swap weapons after every skill cycle.
  • Treat your health bar as a resource. Kills drop health back, so occasional trading is faster than dodging everything.
  • Prioritise ranged enemies over melee ones, with the werewolf as the exception you kill first (bestiary).
  • Disable teammate skill effects and combat text in the settings cog to cut screen clutter.

Where the gold goes

Gold has two main sinks, and both are worth planning for:

Blessings. Every tier costs gold on top of materials, from 2,000 at +1 to 30,000 at +12. Running a single item from +1 to +12 costs 152,300 gold before failures — and failures start at +4. Full table on the blessing page.

The Grocery rotation. Lv.3 runes at 3,000 gold each are usually cheaper than farming the Cave of Runes, and Crystal Flake x3 at 3,000 gold is effectively blessing currency. The Friendship Potion at 8,000 is the most expensive single line (shop page).

Selling ore

Every ore has a sale price, listed on the ore table — Sand Rock sells for 2 gold, and prices climb steeply with ore level. Sell the low-level ore you have stopped crafting with; ore you will never use is gold you do not have. Keep every mythic and legendary piece until your character badly out-levels it, which is the one exception the progression guide insists on.
